NordiAccess - answers to common questions about NordiAccess

What does the JumpStart program include?

JumpStart is a program through which eligible patients with unresolved insurance reimbursement issues can receive Norditropin® [somatropin (rDNA origin) injection] free of charge. JumpStart provides a 30-day supply of Norditropin® that may be shipped to the patient free of charge during their insurance authorization period.

Who orders JumpStart?

Access to the JumpStart program must be ordered by the physician for an FDA-approved diagnosis.

What happens after 30 days?

If insurance authorization is not complete after 30 days, the patient is eligible to receive a second JumpStart.

How many months of JumpStart may a patient receive at the start of therapy?

Novo Nordisk is committed to supporting you and the patients you refer to Norditropin®. Our support programs help ensure efficient progress through the insurance process so your patient can access appropriate Norditropin® coverage. Our policy is to offer up to two months of JumpStart for eligible patients since most of our patients have resolved their initial insurance challenges within two months of referral.

Occasionally, a case may take more time. Novo Nordisk can continue to offer JumpStart on a month-to-month basis, providing patients are being responsive and helping the case move forward. For additional information, please contact the NordiCare® Program Manager at 888-668-6444.

When can patients be screened for PAP eligibility?

The screening process begins upon initial insurance authorization denial or a determination that the patient is uninsured and is a United States resident.

How long can patients in the PAP program receive treatment?

Patients eligible for patient assistance may receive Norditropin® for up to six months.

What happens at the end of six months?

At the end of six months, the NordiCare® Case Manager will contact the patient and determine whether the patient still needs assistance.

What are your eligibility criteria for PAP?

Novo Nordisk cannot publish our financial limits for PAP. Guidelines are updated each year, and they take into account regional differences in cost of living, the number of people in the household, and out-of-pocket medical expenses for those in the household.
